Hudson Hollister

Data Transparency Coalition
Executive Director
USA / États-Unis
Hudson Hollister is the founder and executive director of the Data Transparency Coalition, an organization that brings technology companies and open-government nonprofits together to advocate the standardization of U.S. federal data. The Data Transparency Coalition encourages Congress and leaders in the executive branch to support the adoption of consistent government-wide identifiers for crucial data elements and consistent reporting standards, including XBRL, to express the relationships between those elements. Prior to founding the Data Transparency Coalition, Hudson served as counsel to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform of the U.S. House of Representatives. He drafted the Financial Industry Transparency Act, introduced in 2010, which would have required the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other financial regulatory agencies to adopt consistent data reporting standards for the information they collect from companies, brokers, and exchanges, and the Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA Act), introduced in 2011, which will require standardization for U.S. federal spending data. Hudson previously served as an attorney fellow in the SEC's Office of Interactive Disclosure, which oversees the agency's XBRL reporting requirement, and was a securities litigator in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins LLP.
