Over my 25+ years with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, I have undertaken a number of diverse roles: leading a regional Business unit for Large & Complex cases who’s turnover ranged from £30M-£600M; as a trainer and mentor; and a specialist in Oil taxation as part of the large business sector, co authoring the tax on the boardroom agenda report.

In my current role, I lead a team analysing, interrogating, testing and exploring the XBRL data received by HMRC for all UK Corporate entities submitting company accounts. I will discuss some of these activities during the conference and focus on the detail of mapping and analysing the data for the identification of various tax and duty risks including tax avoidance and assistance to policy colleagues.
